Meet Bowie a rescue pup that melts in rescuer’s arms

The moment rescuers scooped him up, Bowie melted—like butter on hot toast.

Bowie was discovered wandering the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, on a cold January day earlier this year, looking like he’d seen some stuff. (And by “stuff,” we mean the canine version of a post-apocalyptic survival movie.) Police found him, called in Stray Rescue of St. Louis, and the adventure began.

SRSL’s rescue team, led by Donna Lochmann, rushed to the scene and soon took over for the police officers. Later the sweet pup was named Bowie.

The moment rescuers scooped him up, Bowie melted—like butter on hot toast. He let out a sigh so big, you could practically hear him saying, “Okay fine, you got me. Take me home, hooman.”

Rescuer lochmann snuggled Bowie for the duration of the car ride. Even though they’d just met, the two had an instant connection, and the once-scared boy felt safe in her arms.

After his Oscar-worthy rescue scene, Bowie moved into foster care. And let’s just say, he took to it. One minute he’s a streetwise survivor, the next he’s sprawled out like he’s been doing Sunday naps his whole life.

Bowie’s foster parents loved him right away, but it was his new foster pup brother, Ramone, who connected with him most. “Ramone is absolutely smitten with him,” Bowie’s foster, wrote in a Facebook comment.

Here’s the fun part: YOU can make this kind of magic happen. Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. Or if that’s not possible, donate to rescue organizations (because vet bills are no joke). Even sharing stories like Bowie’s helps more animals find their forever homes.

And who knows? Maybe the next dramatic sigh of relief will be on your couch, right next to you.
